Where science nurtures the future.

Where science nurtures the future.

A two-year study was conducted from 2022 to 2024 with over one hundred babies suffering from severe colic. Using the Variflo system — employed by Timi’s in its baby bottles, a company specialized in manufacturing baby products — it was confirmed that with the Variflo system, babies were able to control the milk flow, and the nipple adapted to the intensity of their suction: slow, medium, or fast.

Through this, we observed that the babies swallowed less air, their anxiety decreased, and this significantly reduced their colic and gas. We also noticed they were calmer and slept better.

  1. Milk Flow Rates From Bottle Nipples Used for Feeding Infants Who Are Hospitalized

    • This study measured the milk flow rates of 29 types of bottle nipples used in hospitals across three countries. The results showed a wide range — from 2.10 mL/min to 85.34 mL/min, depending on the nipple type.

    • Conclusion: “Milk flow is … a variable that may contribute to the degree of physiologic instability experienced by infants who are medically fragile.”

    • This study used a porcine model to evaluate how nipple stiffness and hole size affect infant suction and feeding physiology.

    • Key finding: “Hole size had the most profound impact on the number of sucks infants took per swallow.”

  1. A Descriptive Investigation of Infant Feeding Bottles Marketed in the UK

    • This research analyzed how baby bottles and nipples are marketed as being “equivalent to breastfeeding.” It found that the scientific evidence supporting such claims is very limited and often of poor quality.

    • Quote: “Infant feeding bottles and teats are being marketed as ‘equivalent’ to breastfeeding; however, the scientific evidence used to support claims … is almost non‐existent, misleading and inadequate.”

  1. Research on the Design of Children’s Stroller Based on User Experience

    • This study focused on baby strollers and analyzed how user-oriented design (experience, safety, and user behavior) improves stroller development.

    • Conclusion: Consumer demands have evolved — they now seek not only basic functionality but also enhanced user experience and design centered on usability.
